What you will do:
- Crafts creative copy for various marketing pieces promoting the clients needs maintaining brand standards and ensuring clarity of messaging.
- Develops creative content for advertising campaigns for use in print, radio, outdoor, television and direct mail; ensures review by senior creative team members as part of the career progression process.
- Edits/proofreads and/or rewrites marketing copy of other team members in order to assist the creative copy team in meeting deadlines.
- Able to interpret briefs/creative project team plans and produce copy that hits all the relevant points, on time for predetermined deadlines
- Receives regular feedback and uses it to grow and improve as a copywriter-amending work based on both internal and external feedback
- Supports the creative copywriting team as needed.
- Works collaboratively with the Marketing Creative Services and Digital Teams to identify and coordinate opportunities in which a combination of communications tools and techniques are required.
- Participates with the Creative Services team during brainstorming sessions; begins to contribute relevant ideas as appropriate.
- Conducts research on clients competitors advertising campaigns to be able to offer relevant ideas to clients in developing their marketing campaigns.
- Participates as a "pair of hands" on major projects and assists as needed to be able to learn and understand major clients business and needs
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will have:
- Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution preferably in journalism, communications, marketing or English.
- Portfolio of writing samples for a variety of audiences
- Ability to write in a clear, concise, engaging and readable manner
- Understanding of proofing/copy editing skills
- Basic understanding of AP style.
- Outstanding and positive interpersonal and communications skills in order to work collaboratively, harmoniously and professionally with a wide variety of people, staff, vendors, contract staff and other external contacts.
- Ability to work with people of various viewpoints, cultural backgrounds and skill levels.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision to accomplish deadlines
- Highly organized and able to manage time
- Willingness to learn new skills and gain new knowledge.
- Computer proficiency utilizing routine office software such as MS Office Suite, email, internet, blog software, etc., and a familiarity with social media platforms.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
